Kim Geon-hee: "Hong Jun-pyo and Yoo Seung-min also did a gut" Recording; Hong Jun-pyo: "Lies are scary" On the afternoon of the 16th, the MBC program "Straight," which covers the "7-hour phone call" content of Kim Geon-hee, spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, was being broadcast on the electronic billboard at the MBC building in Sangam-dong, Seoul.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Seoyoung] Additional content related to shamanism has been revealed in the so-called 7-hour phone call transcript of Kim Gun-hee, spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, causing a stir.

On the 22nd, MBC Newsdesk reported that during a phone call with a reporter from the YouTube channel Seoul's Voice, Kim denied allegations of shamanistic rituals surrounding her, while making statements implying that Assemblyman Hong Joon-pyo and former Assemblyman Yoo Seung-min had performed such rituals. According to the report, Kim told reporter Lee Myung-soo, "In this field, I get reports on who performs rituals. It includes who goes to fortune-tellers," and added, "I have never been to a fortune-teller. It's all hearsay; bring me evidence."

When asked by Lee if Assemblyman Hong also performed rituals, Kim replied, "Yes." She gave the same answer when asked if former Assemblyman Yoo did as well. She added, "Who do you think I go to for fortune-telling? Even if I see a fortune-teller, I read their fortune for them," and "I'm not someone possessed by spirits, but I have insight into such things. Since I have a connection with my younger sibling, we also communicate by phone."

Following the broadcast of the call, Assemblyman Hong immediately pushed back. On the 23rd, Hong commented on a post made by one of his supporters regarding Kim's transcript, writing, "It's scary to think about what will happen if lies are told so naturally." He also directly refuted Kim's statements, saying, "I have never performed rituals in my life, and I do not believe in shamanism."

Additionally, MBC's further transcripts include Kim saying, "There is a monk named Mu-jeong, from Gangwon Province. Although called a monk, he is not a real monk." Kim said, "The monk met my husband when he was in his twenties. It was when he kept failing the bar exam and was originally planning to get a job at the Bank of Korea," and "He told him, 'You have to try for three more years,' and after trying for three more years, he really passed," and "He said my husband had no intention of becoming a prosecutor, but the monk said it was his fate to be a prosecutor, so he became one because of him."

In the transcript, Kim told reporter Lee, "Send me the palm prints of both hands," and "Then I will roughly tell you. I read palms better than most people." She also said, "Looking at the palm prints, Seoul's Voice won't be around for long. I see a fate of changing jobs," and "There is a disillusionment line on the palm, which means feeling disillusioned. This means they will not be able to work here any longer and will leave."
