The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 23rd that it will hold an online public hearing to gather various opinions on the 4th Basic Plan for Public Transportation (draft).

The public hearing will be held on the 24th from 2 to 4 p.m., hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and organized by the Korea Transport Institute. It can be watched live on YouTube without a separate registration, and participants can freely express their opinions.

The 4th Basic Plan for Public Transportation (2022?2026) is a statutory plan established under the Act on the Promotion and Use of Public Transportation, serving as a five-year plan that outlines the direction of national policy.

To establish this plan, the Korea Transport Institute has been conducting research since November 2020, and the draft basic plan was prepared after collecting opinions from related organizations such as the government, local governments, and industry.

At the public hearing, policy goals, implementation strategies, and detailed policy tasks to achieve the vision of "transition to inclusive mobility services" will be announced.

Related experts will also participate as discussants, and it is expected that they will present diverse and broad opinions on policy goals and key tasks.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport stated, "We will review the opinions presented at this public hearing to finalize the 4th Basic Plan for Public Transportation, and after consultations with related agencies and deliberation by the National Transportation Committee, the plan will be finalized and announced soon."
