[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] A court has advised a YouTuber who caused controversy by wearing an outfit similar to an airline flight attendant uniform in a so-called 'lookbook' video to make the video private.
On the 21st, according to the legal community, the Seoul Central District Court Civil Division 60 (Chief Presiding Judge Kim Jeongjung) made a reconciliation recommendation decision in a provisional injunction case filed by Korean Air and its flight attendants against YouTuber A, seeking to ban the posting of the video. The court advised A to make the video private and not to post the video on social media platforms or YouTube even after the reconciliation recommendation decision is finalized. It also set a condition that if violated, A must pay Korean Air 5 million won per day.
Earlier, in early November last year, A posted a video on their YouTube channel appearing in underwear and changing into an outfit reminiscent of the Korean Air flight attendant uniform. Korean Air and its flight attendants filed for a provisional injunction in December last year, stating that "A's video commodified sexuality, making it difficult for flight attendants to wear their uniforms."
