Daegu to Promote 38 Large-Scale Public Construction Projects Over 10 Billion Won This Year

Briefing Session on Order Plans to Expand Local Construction Companies' Contracts

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] On the 21st, Daegu City held a briefing session on the ordering plan for large-scale public construction projects with construction costs exceeding 10 billion KRW within the jurisdiction.

This is the second session this year following last year, prepared to provide information from the planning stage to the ordering of large-scale public construction projects as a measure to expand orders and participation of local construction companies.

The ordering plan for large-scale public construction projects with estimated construction costs exceeding 10 billion KRW was shared to improve profitability and strengthen bidding competitiveness by securing large-scale construction performance of local construction companies.

This year, there are a total of 38 projects of large-scale public construction projects exceeding 10 billion KRW, including the Joya-Dongmyeong Metropolitan Road Construction and Daegu Grand Park Development Project. Among them, five projects exceed 50 billion KRW.

The city requested the ordering departments to actively participate in Daegu City's policies such as local restricted bidding, priority implementation of mandatory local joint contracts, and review of section division for public construction projects to expand orders for local construction companies.

In addition, special attention was requested regarding construction safety management issues, and efforts were urged to prevent similar incidents in the public construction sector.
