Goyang City's Area Expands by Size of 4 Soccer Fields... 9,840㎡ Increase Compared to Last Year

Deogyang-gu Increases by 7,845㎡, Ilsanseo-gu Decreases by 149㎡

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The area of Goyang City in Gyeonggi Province will increase by the size of four soccer fields. The city announced on the 21st that "as of the end of last year, the city's area increased by 9,840.6㎡ compared to 2020, reaching 268㎢."

According to the city, the area that increased the most is Deogyang-gu. The area of Deogyang-gu increased by approximately 7,845㎡ to 165㎢. Ilsandong-gu increased by about 2,145㎡ to 59㎢. On the other hand, Ilsanseo-gu decreased by 149.8㎡ to 42㎢.

In Deogyang-gu, the area of national and public land such as roads and drainage channels increased during the process of revising the cadastral map within forest land. In Ilsandong-gu, the area increased during the transfer of project sites such as Pungdong 2 District housing development to land.

Conversely, in Ilsanseo-gu, the area decreased as the cadastral records were finalized following the completion of the cadastral re-survey project.

The city's area and related cadastral statistics are used as basic data in various fields such as establishing land-related policies and tax imposition.

Meanwhile, the confirmed area will undergo verification by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in February and will be included in the cadastral statistics yearbook.
