On this day, Deputy Prime Minister Hong held a meeting with 22 university student reporters from the Ministry of Economy and Finance at the Government Seoul Office and said, "There are facts that have been wrongly reported or misunderstood in the world," adding, "As you carry out your reporter activities for a year, please carefully examine these parts and strive to reveal the truth."
Afterwards, the reporters presented their future coverage plans and key points of their reporting activities, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance stated that they listened to the concerns of the reporters as young people and exchanged opinions on government youth policies. The university student reporters proposed various ideas from the youth perspective in areas such as employment, housing, welfare, and industrial safety, to which the Deputy Prime Minister responded, "We will strengthen the effectiveness of policies so that young people can feel the impact, and by communicating frequently with the youth, we will ensure that the government's youth support policies reflect the demands of the field well."
At the end of the event, Deputy Prime Minister Hong presented the university student reporters with a yucheok (鍮尺) and a desk lamp (燈) as souvenirs. He added, "Engrave in your heart the values of accuracy and fairness that the yucheok symbolizes, and faithfully fulfill the role of illuminating dark and hidden parts."
