[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] Regarding the remarks made by Kim Geon-hee, spouse of presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, in the so-called '7-hour phone call,' where she targeted former People Power Party (PPP) chief election strategist Kim Jong-in by saying, "He comes to a feast where there is food to eat," Kim Jong-in said on the 21st, "I think she said that because she speaks so recklessly."

Kim Jong-in appeared on KBS Radio's 'Choi Kyung-young's Top Current Affairs' that day and evaluated Kim's remarks criticizing him in this way. Regarding her statement that "If they take power, they won't be safe," he pointed out, "She has already committed the mistake of creating public opinion questioning whether a person who speaks like that is truly suitable to be the president's spouse."

Regarding the speculation that Kim's remarks might reflect candidate Yoon's thoughts, he responded, "Since he is someone who prioritizes fairness and justice, would such a person really think that way?"

About the '7-hour phone call' transcript, he said, "It would have been best if the Kim Geon-hee transcript had never existed, but since it has been disclosed to the public, no one can comment on the outcome," adding, "I cannot say outright whether it affects the election; ultimately, it should be left to the judgment of the people."

Regarding the network headquarters associated with the shaman 'Geonjin Beopsa' Jeon Mo, Kim said, "During the primary process, when the 'king (王) character on the palm' was written, it was already a controversial issue, but in reality, I had no idea whether such an organization existed within the election committee's launch situation."

On the party situation, he said that support ratings have been recovering after resolving conflicts, stating, "I think things are going relatively smoothly now," and dismissed the possibility of returning to the PPP election committee by saying, "Since I have already left once, there will be no going back or such things."

Regarding the possibility of joining the Democratic Party, he emphasized, "(Democratic Party) lawmaker Park Yong-jin expressed a personal hope, but I am not someone who moves like that."

About Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung, he criticized, "He changes his mind very quickly," adding, "Promises made before also change depending on the situation, so there is no choice but to have doubts about his consistency."

Especially on opposition unity, he said, "Unless candidate Ahn Cheol-soo's support rating rises to at least 18%, it will be difficult for talks of unification to proceed," and regarding the dinner meeting between candidate Yoon and lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo, he said, "It is wise not to rely on or seek help from any particular person from the start."
