[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 21st that it will expand support for infertile couples through active childbirth policies so that families wishing to have children can give birth.
Support for infertility treatment costs for infertile couples will be expanded regardless of income criteria. The out-of-pocket expenses will be covered by the county: up to 9 fresh IVF embryo treatments at 1.5 million KRW per session, up to 7 frozen embryo treatments at 500,000 KRW per session, and up to 5 artificial insemination treatments at 300,000 KRW per session.
The support target is those whose wife's resident registration address has been in Yeonggwang-gun for at least one year prior to the application date.
The Jeonnam-type infertility treatment support removes the limit on the number of supported treatments and abolishes income criteria for traditional Korean medicine infertility treatments, allowing support of up to 1.8 million KRW per person.
Applications for additional infertility treatment cost support can be submitted within 3 months after the treatment ends by submitting necessary documents such as a diagnosis certificate issued by a government-designated infertility treatment institution.
The county is actively promoting various policies from marriage to childbirth, including ▲ marriage encouragement money of 5 million KRW ▲ purchase cost for childbirth congratulatory goods of 300,000 KRW ▲ congratulatory gifts for birth registration of the child ▲ full coverage of out-of-pocket expenses for vasectomy and tubal restoration surgeries ▲ and 300,000 KRW support for transportation cards for pregnant women.
For more details, please contact the Marriage and Childbirth Team at the Population and Job Policy Office of the county office.
