[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has selected 21 institutions through a public contest to operate the Busan-type care model ‘Uri Dongnae Jaramteo’ this year.
With the additional selection, the ‘Uri Dongnae Jaramteo,’ which was operated in 9 locations in the Busan area last year, can now be expanded to 21 locations.
‘Uri Dongnae Jaramteo’ is Busan’s care model, developed and operated for the first time nationwide, to meet local care demands.
The model involves schools and local communities jointly caring for children by utilizing apartment communities, small libraries, and public institutions in areas with many dual-income parents.
For the selection of operating institutions this year, a public contest was held from January 5 to 14, resulting in applications from 9 institutions that operated last year and 18 new applicants.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education conducted evaluations and finally selected a total of 21 institutions, including 9 existing operators and 12 new operators.
The newly selected institutions are △Jeonggwan Easy The One 2nd Apartment, △Jeonggwan Gahwa The Terrace 1st Apartment Small Library, △Jeonggwan Central Park Apartment Small Library, △Jeonggwan Hanjin Haemoro Apartment, △Ilgwang Xi Prugio 2nd Complex Apartment, △e-Pyeonhansesang Ilgwang Apartment, △Ilgwang Easy The One 1st Apartment, △Myeongji The Sharp First World 2nd Complex Apartment, △Myeongji Samjeong Green Core The Best Apartment, △Daeyeon Hillstate Prugio Apartment Allmom Library, △Yeongdo Central Aileen’s Garden Apartment, and △Busan The Sharp Park City Apartment.
The selected institutions will operate the care Jaramteo from March after undergoing facility environment maintenance and student recruitment processes.
Superintendent Kim Seok-jun said, “We will do our best to eliminate blind spots in care and create conditions where children can be raised with peace of mind.”
