[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The hearing for the injunction request filed by the Justice Party against the three major terrestrial broadcasters to prohibit the one-on-one TV debate between Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, and Yoon Seok-youl, the People Power Party presidential candidate, will be held on the 26th.
On the 21st, the Seoul Southern District Court announced that the injunction request filed by the Justice Party was assigned to Civil Division 51 (Chief Presiding Judge Kim Tae-eop) for trial. The court plans to hold a hearing at 4 p.m. on the 26th to listen to the opinions of the Justice Party and the three broadcasters before making a decision.
Ahn Cheol-soo, the People’s Party presidential candidate, also opposed the one-on-one TV debate and previously filed an injunction request at the Seoul Western District Court. The hearing for this case will be held at 3 p.m. on the 24th.
