SLD Group Announces Industry-First Implementation of '4.5-Day Workweek' at 2022 Opening Ceremony

SLD Group held its 2022 opening ceremony at its new headquarters located in Yuryang-dong, Cheonan City, on the 4th.

The ceremony was conducted in compliance with quarantine guidelines, including temperature checks, mask-wearing, use of hand sanitizer, and maintaining a visitor log. The event featured △Outstanding Employee Awards △Expansion of Employee Welfare △2021 Financial Results and New Business Announcements.

At the 2022 opening ceremony held at SLD Group's new headquarters (Yuryang-dong, Cheonan City), it was announced that starting from March, a 4.5-day workweek will be fully implemented, with a 36-hour workweek. This is the first such system to be introduced in the industry and is seen as a groundbreaking move among welfare policies for small and medium-sized enterprises.

In particular, since SLD Group already implements parental leave, flexible working hours, and support for youth housing costs, the additional introduction of the 4.5-day workweek draws even more attention.

SLD Group stated, “Maintaining a 5-day workweek does not necessarily translate to ‘quality of work.’ We aim to provide a more efficient work environment by guaranteeing individual leisure time and will apply the system flexibly according to each job situation.”

SLD Group CEO Chang-Moo Lee said, "I believe employees' work capabilities come from their satisfaction with the company. We have been considering how to create an environment where employees can work proactively rather than just working longer hours." He added, "Recently, work-life balance has become important, and the concept of a 'lifetime workplace' is becoming increasingly meaningless." He concluded, "We want to create a company that employees can be proud to work for right now."

Meanwhile, SLD Group actively participates in the government's carbon neutrality agreement by engaging in renewable energy distribution projects and was selected as a ‘2021 Renewable Energy Distribution Project Participant Company.’ It is a company researching and implementing future-oriented businesses such as the ‘BIPV-type Smart Farm,’ a combination of renewable energy and agricultural technology aimed at carbon zero.

Additionally, in the fields of real estate development and general construction, SLD Group is accelerating the sale and construction of the ‘Golden Forest’ housing complex in Asan City, Chungnam Province.
