[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Kim Dong-yeon, the presidential candidate of the New Wave party, proposed a meeting for policy discussions with Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, and Yoon Seok-youl, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party.

On the 21st, Kim held an emergency press conference titled "Kim Dong-yeon's Petition to the People" at his presidential campaign office in Yeouido, Seoul, stating, "Today, I, Kim Dong-yeon, boldly propose to Candidate Lee and Candidate Yoon in the name of the people," and added, "To overcome the economic crisis and save people’s livelihoods, and to create proper agendas for the nation's future, let us meet."

He said, "In the presidential election phase, there is no alternative to overcoming the crisis or future vision visible, and the candidates are only focused on exposing each other's flaws and negativity," and emphasized, "The presidential election of the Republic of Korea cannot continue like this."

Candidate Kim stated that he is willing to engage in discussions on various topics including compensation for losses of small business owners, youth issues, and constitutional amendments for major reforms of the power structure. He added that he would accept even one-on-one meetings without concern for the format or method of the debate.

He also said, "This is also a request for an opportunity to inform the people of my claims," emphasizing, "It is unfair for the candidates of the two major parties to debate only among themselves."
