Focus on Projects to Expand the Foundation for Self-Reliance
[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju County announced on the 21st that it will provide a total of 2 billion KRW to create jobs, offer work opportunities, and establish a foundation for self-sufficiency and independence for low-income groups this year.
The specific project budget includes △ 283.06 million KRW for Eup/Myeon self-sufficiency labor projects △ 1.62942 billion KRW for private consignment support for self-sufficiency support △ 24.76 million KRW for self-sufficiency incentives.
The self-sufficiency labor project provides jobs to labor-vulnerable groups who have difficulty finding employment in the labor market, supporting skill acquisition and offering work opportunities. Only basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups can participate.
Project types include directly operated projects by the county such as labor maintenance type and welfare helper type, and market entry type, social service type, self-sufficiency helper type, and part-time self-sufficiency labor project groups operated by consignment to the Wanju Regional Self-Sufficiency Center.
The labor maintenance type refers to tasks where local governments assist with regional environment maintenance and public facility management. The intern/helper type is a project where participants work as self-sufficiency interns at local governments and regional self-sufficiency centers, gaining skills and experience to promote self-sufficiency through employment.
Additionally, the market entry type refers to projects with high market entry potential such as lunchbox businesses and easy start-up self-sufficiency enterprises. The social service type means socially useful jobs with public interest, such as cultural heritage management or laundromat operation.
Part-time self-sufficiency labor supports participants who find it difficult to work full days due to caregiving, nursing, or health reasons.
Residents wishing to participate in self-sufficiency projects can apply anytime at the county office, Eup/Myeon offices, or the Wanju Regional Self-Sufficiency Center.
If selected as a candidate, participants are assigned to Eup/Myeon and self-sufficiency center project groups based on self-sufficiency capability evaluation and participate in the self-sufficiency projects.
