[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Amid the metaverse craze, Ediya Coffee's Zepeto virtual store is bustling with visitors.
According to the food and beverage industry on the 21st, Ediya Coffee's Zepeto 'Four Seasons Cafe,' which opened on December 7 last year, surpassed 6 million cumulative visitors in just 45 days. As of today, it has recorded over 6.3 million visitors.
This is about twice as fast as the virtual store 'Santa Square' launched by Starbucks, the industry leader.
Zepeto is a representative platform of the 3D virtual world metaverse, where social, economic, and cultural activities similar to the real world take place. It is used by more than 200 million people worldwide.
The Ediya Four Seasons Cafe is decorated with a 'Hanok Cafe' concept that fits well with the winter theme, and it is especially popular among the younger generation and foreigners. Customers visiting the store can meet the virtual mate character 'Topi' and see various popular Ediya Coffee products on display. On the second-floor terrace, there is a hotteok corner where visitors can enjoy winter snacks along with the winter scenery. On the Ediya map, visitors can take photos with friends at the snowball spot and encounter a white ermine hidden in the winter trees, enjoying diverse seasonal experiences.
