Gwangju Nambu Fire Station Conducts Fire Safety Consulting for Apartment Complexes

According to statistics from the National Fire Agency, there were 24,604 apartment fires nationwide over the past five years (2016-2020), accounting for 11.1% of all fires, resulting in 2,410 casualties.

Since apartment complexes are spaces where many people reside, the casualty rate in case of fire is high, and if a fire occurs in another unit, failure to recognize it early can lead to greater damage.

Accordingly, the Nambu Fire Station focused on raising awareness and fire prevention by distributing ▲ fire safety QR code stickers ▲ providing education on fire hydrants, fire extinguishers, and CPR ▲ guiding evacuation spaces such as lightweight partitions ▲ conducting high-rise fire suppression training using aerial ladder trucks ▲ urging installation of residential fire safety facilities ▲ and instructing on safe use of electrical appliances.
