The goal is to make a winning move with high-performance gaming gear products that offer great value for gamers from all walks of life.
On the 21st, Abko announced that it plans to focus on product research and development in the first half of this year and release a total of about 280 new gaming gear products by the end of the year. In addition to keyboards, headsets, and mice, which already hold a high market share domestically, the company plans to discover growth drivers in the gaming laptop, gaming monitor, and gaming memory markets, which have flourished since COVID-19.
Especially with e-sports being selected as an official event at the ‘2022 Hangzhou Asian Games’ held in September, the gaming gear and PC peripheral markets have encountered new growth opportunities. As PC activities such as gaming, remote work, and online classes increase due to non-face-to-face demand, consumers seeking gaming gear products for various purposes beyond gaming are also on the rise.
An Abko official said, “Although sales were severely impacted by restrictions on PC bang operations, which were our main sales channels due to COVID-19, the gaming gear market is inevitably a market that must grow solely by benefiting from the growth of the global e-sports market,” adding, “We are putting great effort into research and development of new products to strengthen the competitiveness of our main products and to target diverse consumer groups.”
Abko holds more than 50% market share in the domestic keyboard and headset markets. Among them, the ‘KN10C PBT Non-contact Keyboard’ and ‘N800 Gaming Headset’ were steady sellers that gained the most popularity last year. The company is also expanding collaboration by releasing official licensed gaming gear for Pearl Abyss’s popular game ‘Black Desert’ and working with various global game companies.
A company official stated, “As the age range and preferences of gamers enjoying games have diversified regardless of gender or age, the market demand for gaming gear continues to increase,” and added, “Since positive trends continue, such as the office market expanding to home offices beyond the e-sports market, we will strengthen our position as the industry leader by releasing various new products that meet these needs.”
