Korea Investment & Securities Launches 'Korea Investment Wellington Global Innovation Fund'

[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] Korea Financial Group subsidiary Korea Investment & Securities launched the 'Korea Investment Wellington Global Innovation Fund' on the 21st.

This fund is a product that invests indirectly in Wellington Asset Management's 'Global Innovation Fund.' The Global Innovation Fund, established in February 2017, selects and focuses investments on companies leading industrial innovation or benefiting from structural growth. Since its inception, it has consistently outperformed its benchmark index (MSCI All Country World), and as of the end of last year, the fund's assets under management were approximately 770 billion KRW. This fund is also the second product launched through collaboration between Korea Investment & Securities and Wellington Asset Management.

Yang Hae-man, Head of Investment Products Division at Korea Investment & Securities, said, "In an environment where the structure of economic growth changes in the long term, innovative companies are attractive investment destinations," adding, "We expect Wellington's stable management organization and proven stock selection capabilities to contribute to improving domestic investors' portfolio returns."
