[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] SPC Group announced on the 21st that it held the ‘2021 Second Half SPC Corporate University Graduation Ceremony’ on the 20th at the SPC Future Creation Center in Sindebang-dong, Seoul.
‘SPC Corporate University’ is a program authorized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, aimed at fostering skilled talents in baking, cooking, and coffee fields for prospective graduates of specialized high schools and junior colleges, to promote youth employment and secure professional manpower.
Since its establishment in 2015, SPC Group has signed agreements with 10 junior colleges and 3 specialized high schools, selecting and educating about 450 people over 13 sessions twice a year for 7 years, and hiring them as regular employees. The employment rate reaches 99%.
At this graduation ceremony, 30 students from the Bakery Department, Culinary Arts Department, and Barista Department who enrolled in the second half of last year graduated. All graduates were hired by Paris Croissant, an SPC Group affiliate, and will work at brands such as Paris Baguette, La Grillia, and Pascucci.
Meanwhile, in addition to the Corporate University, SPC Group has been operating ‘SPC Food Science University,’ an in-house university offering the industry’s first associate degree program authorized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology since 2011.
