Participation of 14 Organizations Including Manufacturers Such as Winicare
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] KT, a 'Digital Platform Company (DIGICO),' announced on the 21st that it will launch the 'AI Green Ecosystem Environment DX One Team' to create eco-friendly living spaces through an ABC-based environment DX platform utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and cloud technologies.
The Environment DX One Team includes 14 domestic organizations such as KT, Hanssem, the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KOTITI), the Korea Indoor Environment Association, the Korea Remodeling Association, Soonchunhyang University, as well as manufacturers in the environmental sector like LG Electronics, Himpel, NF, Samyang International, Winicare, Soatech, Sentry, and environmental consulting firm EAN Technology.
The Environment DX One Team brings together key institutions in the environmental field to jointly develop and distribute products and brands, and to collaborate on eco-friendly certifications. Each organization aims to lead ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management and digital transformation (DX) in the environmental sector by providing customized indoor environmental services aligned with carbon neutrality policies.
Each institution plans to leverage its capabilities across all areas of environmental services to lead the AI Green Ecosystem. KT will expand the value of eco-friendly services by utilizing its expertise in artificial intelligence and real-time environmental big data analysis. The experience zone and office space at KT’s Songpa building serve as representative examples. KT analyzes air quality, temperature, and humidity tailored to the characteristics of different spaces such as learning, work, and commercial areas to maintain comfortable indoor air quality and provide services that enable carbon neutrality through energy savings.
Since 2018, KT has been providing real-time air quality data through its 'AirMap Korea' platform, integrated with major KT services like GiGA Genie and Olleh TV, as well as through key local governments nationwide and Naver. KT plans to share this expertise with the institutions in the Environment DX One Team and continuously develop the environment DX platform.
Hanssem offers eco-friendly interior services to customers through its total home interior brand 'Hanssem Rehouse.' Hanssem proposes and develops products that include KT’s Environment DX platform services integrated with furniture, platforms, and devices during the consultation and design stages for customers seeking interior construction. KOTITI, the Indoor Environment Association, and the Korea Remodeling Association are responsible for eco-friendly certifications related to indoor spaces. Manufacturers will provide customized services using KT’s platform.
Song Jae-ho, Vice President and Head of KT’s AI/DX Convergence Business Division, stated, “The launch of the Environment DX One Team with 14 institutions will be a significant opportunity for environmental DX (digital transformation) using KT’s DIGICO ABC platform.” He added, “KT will continue to present lifestyle-oriented models related to the environment to practice ESG management and contribute to an eco-friendly Korea through Korean-style carbon neutrality.”
Meanwhile, KT plans to continue projects for overseas air quality management based on big data and AI technologies accumulated domestically, starting with the agreement signed with UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) in 2019.
