[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Pro-government comedian Kang Seongbeom criticized Professor Lee Sujeong of Kyonggi University’s Department of Criminal Psychology on the 20th, saying, "The wife of the presidential candidate he supports openly made remarks belittling the 'Me Too' movement, and while apologizing on conscience, she blatantly defended Kim Geonhee." Professor Lee recently expressed her intention to resign from her advisory position at the Women’s Headquarters under the People Power Party’s election campaign headquarters.

On the same day, Kang said on his YouTube channel 'Kang Seongbeom TV,' "Has Professor Lee ever put up such an unreasonable defense for the perpetrator in cases where women are victims?"

He criticized, "When she first joined the campaign headquarters, didn’t she say, 'I’m not interested in politics, I joined to create women’s policies and represent women’s perspectives'? So what are you doing now? The People Power Party’s campaign headquarters is openly ignoring women. They are blatantly disregarding them."

Also, Kang said, "When Professor Lee first joined the People Power Party, her justification was that she was angry about calling the victim of former Mayor Park Won-soon a 'complainant.' But at some point, the women’s rights issues arising in the People Power Party are uncertain, while the Democratic Party’s issues are treated as world-shattering evils," he said.

He pointed out, "Regarding Kim Geonhee’s remark in the recording, 'Conservatives don’t have Me Too incidents because they pay money. My husband and I are on Ahn Hee-jung’s side,' Professor Lee apologized to the victim Kim Ji-eun," adding, "But in the apology, she included words like 'Kim Geonhee, who has long suffered from female-degrading character assassination due to the 'Julie theory.' This is what politics is."

Kang sarcastically said, "She was angry about the term 'complainant' and initially did not care about women’s rights issues, aligning with the party. But she doesn’t react to words that should be several times more shocking than that. That’s how she became a politician. So she doesn’t have to speak like a scholar or educator anymore."

He added, "Why would a recognized expert act like this? I think the reason Professor Lee is doing this is because she has already become a politician," and said, "Of course, declaring politics is not a bad thing. It’s not strange for her to be involved in politics. She seems fully qualified."

He continued, "But I was somewhat displeased by her always saying, 'I’m not interested in politics.' Professor, you are already a politician. Since you are actively involved in politics on the People Power Party side more than anyone else, just do it comfortably. It’s uncomfortable for you and for those watching," he directly criticized.

Earlier, MBC’s 'Straight' program on the 16th released a recording of Kim Geonhee, wife of presidential candidate Yoon Seok-youl, speaking with a reporter from the YouTube channel 'Seoul’s Voice.'

In the recording, Kim Geonhee said about the progressive camp’s 'Me Too' issue, "The Me Too movement was first triggered during the Moon Jae-in administration, and they said they would catch it. Why would they want to catch it?" She added, "Honestly, I feel sorry for Ahn Hee-jung. My husband (Yoon Seok-youl) and I are very much on Ahn Hee-jung’s side."

In response, Professor Lee posted on her Facebook, "As an advisor to the Women’s Headquarters of the People Power Party’s campaign headquarters, I sincerely regret the mental pain caused to victim Kim Ji-eun by the recent 'Seoul’s Voice' recording controversy related to the Ahn Hee-jung case."

She added, "Although the candidate’s wife herself has long suffered from female-degrading character assassination due to the 'Julie theory,' I humbly apologize for not providing careful consideration to the pain of Kim Ji-eun, who is a victim of sexual violence." Afterward, Professor Lee stepped down from her advisory position at the Women’s Headquarters of the People Power Party’s election campaign headquarters.

Meanwhile, Kim Ji-eun criticized through a statement released by the Korea Sexual Violence Counseling Center, demanding "a sincere apology from Kim Geonhee," and said, "I saw Kim Geonhee’s attitude of treating even cases confirmed guilty by court rulings with conspiracy theories and ridicule."

She urged Kim Geonhee to apologize, saying, "Apologize. The words you carelessly uttered became the seeds of secondary harm, and I am still suffering from malicious comments."
