[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Royal Canin Korea announced on the 21st that it has delivered 1 ton of donated pet food, accumulated through the ‘Petiquette Challenge’ campaign planned with the Korea Tourism Organization, to the abandoned animal shelter in Iksan City, Jeollabuk-do.
The Petiquette Challenge campaign was a participatory donation event aimed at promoting responsible pet culture awareness. After signing the Petiquette pledge, participants posted it on their SNS accounts, and 1 kg of pet food was accumulated per post. From December 6 to 19 last year, a total of 1,770 Petiquette pledges were shared on social media, successfully reaching the goal of accumulating 1 ton of pet food.
The pledge includes petiquette that both pet owners and non-pet owners can follow. It consists of six promises: registering animals and attaching identification tags according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ pet registration system ▲ wearing a leash (collar) on dogs when going out ▲ carrying waste bags and collecting excrement during walks ▲ using a carrier bag when using public transportation ▲ not touching pets without the owner’s permission ▲ refraining from excessive behavior that stimulates pets.
On the 20th, Royal Canin Korea and the Korea Tourism Organization visited the abandoned animal shelter in Iksan City, Jeollabuk-do, and delivered the accumulated 1 ton of pet food. Attendees at the donation ceremony included Noh Jeomhwan, Head of the National Tourism Headquarters at the Korea Tourism Organization, Yoon Seongeun, Executive Director of External Cooperation at Royal Canin Korea, and Lim Jonghyun, Director of the Jeonbuk Abandoned Animal Protection Association.
Executive Director Yoon said, “I am pleased to carry out this meaningful campaign to promote Petiquette together with the Korea Tourism Organization,” adding, “I hope the donated pet food collected through the warm sincerity of the campaign participants will help abandoned animals spend the cold winter healthily and warmly.”
