30th Anniversary of Local Autonomy Joint Project by 16 Regional MBC Stations: Episode 6 "Jachibunwon Jamboree" of "The Nation Made by the People in 30 Years of Local Autonomy"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Lee Dong-jin, Chairman of the Association of Autonomous Decentralization Local Governments (Mayor of Dobong-gu, Seoul), attended the 'Autonomous Decentralization Jamboree 2021 Autonomous Decentralization Awards' held at Gwangmyeong Theater and Lifelong Learning Center in Gwangmyeong City on the 19th.


The ‘2021 Autonomous Decentralization Awards’ were broadcast live on YouTube and will be aired in February through the program ‘30 Years of Local Autonomy: A Nation Made by the People.’ ‘30 Years of Local Autonomy: A Nation Made by the People’ is a program jointly planned by 16 regional MBC stations, the Association of Autonomous Decentralization Local Governments, the Autonomous Decentralization University, and the Autonomous Decentralization Committee to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the revival of local autonomy.


The main event included ▲ the 2021 Autonomous Decentralization Awards where local governments competed with their best policies ▲ regional brand exhibitions ▲ the regular general meeting and agenda processing. The 2021 Autonomous Decentralization Awards were held in six categories: ▲ Policy - Resident Participation ▲ Policy - Public Interest ▲ Regional Brand - Urban Brand Infrastructure ▲ Regional Brand - New Growth Future Engine ▲ Human Resources - Human Resource Development ▲ Human Resources - Education.


On this day, the Autonomous Decentralization University Diamond Award was specially presented to 89 outstanding graduates of the Autonomous Decentralization University, with Chairman Lee Dong-jin (President of the Autonomous Decentralization University) personally presenting the awards.


Lee Dong-jin, Chairman of the Association of Autonomous Decentralization Local Governments, stated, “The Autonomous Decentralization Awards were established to nurture local resources and strengthen human resource development in autonomous decentralization by dividing local governments nationwide into policy, regional brand, and human resources categories. Since 2022 is the inaugural year of the revised Local Autonomy Act, the Association of Autonomous Decentralization Local Governments will faithfully fulfill its role so that autonomous decentralization becomes a culture and a festival.”
