Korea-Egypt Cooperation on Future and Eco-Friendly Industries such as Electric Vehicles and Renewable Energy

[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] South Korea and Egypt are strengthening cooperation in future and eco-friendly industries such as future cars, information technology (IT), renewable energy, and trade.


The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 21st that the two countries signed five memorandums of understanding (MOUs) between their governments, institutions, and companies at the "Korea-Egypt Future and Green Business Roundtable" held on the 20th (local time) to support cooperation in various fields including ▲trade and investment ▲electric vehicles ▲trade insurance ▲seawater desalination.


The MOUs signed this time include ▲information sharing and cooperation in hosting delegations, seminars, and workshops to promote trade ▲technical support for the development of electric microbuses ▲technical support for the development of electric tuk-tuks ▲project cooperation and advisory meetings to explore joint business opportunities ▲promotion of cooperation in seawater desalination development.


An official from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy stated, "We have maintained economic cooperation focused on manufacturing and energy with Egypt, which has a solid manufacturing base and serves as a bridge connecting the Middle East, Europe, and Africa," adding, "This event is significant in that it presented a new turning point for future-oriented cooperation in economic collaboration between the two countries."
