[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] Supporters of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk raised their voices saying, "We might as well open a hospital ourselves," following the recent two failures of Cho's daughter, Cho Mo (30), in the resident physician selection process.

On the SNS account of 'People Who Love Cho Kuk,' a group of Cho's supporters, a post on the 18th stated, "Cho Kuk's daughter keeps failing the medical doctor selection exam due to obstruction by corrupt forces," and added, "Let's create a fund to open a hospital and become shareholders of the hospital. Tentatively called the 'Candlelight General Hospital Establishment Plan.'"

The post currently has about 900 'likes' and continues to receive supportive comments.

Earlier, in mid-December last year, Cho applied for a residency in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Myeongji Hospital in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, but was not accepted. Although two positions were available and two applicants, including Cho, applied, making the competition ratio 1:1, she was not on the final list of successful candidates.

Myeongji Hospital explained, "According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare's appointment exam guidelines and Myeongji Hospital's resident selection regulations, if it is judged that the candidate is unsuitable for the appropriate job performance as a medical professional, the hospital may select fewer than the quota."

Subsequently, Cho applied alone for the 2022 additional recruitment of new residents at Gyeongsang National University Hospital, held over two days starting December 12, but was rejected consecutively.

Gyeongsang National University Hospital indirectly stated the reason for not hiring Cho Mo was "decided according to recruitment regulations and procedures."

Meanwhile, Pusan National University decided on a preliminary administrative disposition to cancel Cho's admission in August last year and is currently proceeding with follow-up procedures such as hearings.
