[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daegu City and Gyeongbuk Province held a report meeting on the 20th to discover detailed tasks for ultra-wide area cooperation in the field of industrial innovation and to secure execution capabilities for the ‘Daegu-Gyeongbuk Ultra-Wide Area Industrial Establishment’.
The report meeting proceeded in the order of the current status of Daegu-Gyeongbuk ultra-wide area cooperation promotion, follow-up measures for ultra-wide area cooperation in the industrial innovation field and future plans, and a progress report on research services in the robot and bio sectors.
With the amendment of the ‘Special Act on National Balanced Development’ on the 11th, it has become possible to promote ultra-wide area cooperation projects through autonomous linkage and cooperation between regions, and Daegu and Gyeongbuk are expected to fully launch the ‘Ultra-Wide Area Industry’ promotion.
Daegu City and Gyeongbuk Province plan to focus on discovering new tasks through continuous collaboration between the departments in charge of Daegu-Gyeongbuk projects and the formation of a task force (TF) with Daegu-Gyeongbuk research institutes and related companies.
This discovery of ultra-wide area industries and the large-scale restructuring of the industrial structure through industrial convergence are expected to lay an innovative foundation that will build the ‘ladder of innovative growth in the Republic of Korea.’
Kim Dae-young, Policy Planning Officer of Daegu City, said, “With the amendment of the Balanced Development Act, the effectiveness of promoting ultra-wide area industries and the basis for administrative and financial support from the central government have been established, so we will actively respond to future public contest applications, securing national funds, and preliminary feasibility reviews.”
