Secured 450 Million Won in Project Funds... Renovation of Military-Owned Idle Facilities
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 20th, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has secured a project fund of 450 million won after being selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' '2022 Rural Idle Facility Utilization Startup Support' contest.
This contest supports remodeling idle facilities owned by local governments, such as warehouses and buildings, to be used as youth startup spaces or service spaces for residents' cultural welfare.
The county selected the 'Haean Minbak' in Seokseong-ri, Hampyeong-eup, which was built in 2004 and is currently out of use due to aging, as the project site, and plans to transform it into a cafe and a sales center for agricultural and specialty products.
They plan to complete related administrative procedures such as establishing a basic plan and recruiting facility operators by August, and aim to complete construction by June next year.
The 'Haean Minbak,' the subject of this project, is adjacent to Hampyeong's major tourist attractions such as Dolmeori Beach and Jupo Hanok Village, and it is expected to greatly contribute to increasing tourist inflow once the project is completed.
A county official said, "We will successfully carry out this project to revitalize the stagnant rural area."
