Ministry of Environment Revises Air Pollution Process Test Standards
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] From now on, the communication network of the Stack Remote Monitoring System (TMS) can be switched to wireless.
The Ministry of Environment announced on the 20th that it will revise the "Air Pollution Process Test Standards" to include this content and implement it from the 21st.
Until now, the transmission of observation data from the Stack Remote Monitoring System has been based on wired communication networks to ensure communication safety and security, but it has the disadvantage of high installation risks and costs when applied to workplaces in various environments.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Environment revised the relevant standards last year to allow the use of wireless communication networks for data transmission in the Stack Remote Monitoring System after hearing opinions from the industry and conducting pilot projects.
With the possibility of utilizing wireless communication technology in the stack monitoring system, the Ministry of Environment expects that the Stack Remote Monitoring System will expand to various workplaces and contribute to the transition to a carbon-neutral society, including energy savings within workplaces.
Kim Seung-hee, Director of Air Environment Policy at the Ministry of Environment, said, "Through the improvement of communication standards based on wireless communication networks, it will be an opportunity to reduce the communication network construction costs of new Stack Remote Monitoring System workplaces as well as to promote the advancement of Korea's Stack Remote Monitoring System."
