CafeGate Selected as 2021 'Good Franchise' Certified by the Fair Trade Commission

Yuhan Company Eveleim Innovation (CEO Kwon Soon-moon), which operates the big-size coffee specialty store 'Cafe Gate,' announced that it was selected as a 'Good Franchise' in 2021, following 2020, in recognition of its efforts to share the pain of franchisees caused by COVID-19.

This system is implemented by the Fair Trade Commission and the Korea Fair Trade Mediation Agency to minimize and overcome the damage caused by COVID-19 to small business owners and SMEs, and it was carried out again in 2021 following 2020.

In particular, besides aiming for win-win management, in 2021, the system certifies only headquarters that thoroughly fulfill the obligations and compliance requirements of the franchise headquarters, such as the Industrial Safety and Health Act, the Labor Standards Act, and the Food Sanitation Act, as exemplary. In 2020, Cafe Gate exempted royalties for two months and supported coffee beans for all franchise stores, and in 2021, it also provided coffee bean support, promotional materials support, and fully covered publicity expenses.

Cafe Gate, selected as a 2021 Good Franchise, also won the Excellent Franchise Award in the Franchise Industry Development Merit category hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Franchise Industry Association last December. It also entered the 2021 Korea Franchise Ranking organized by Startup Management Newspaper, receiving high recognition in the management diligence category.

A Cafe Gate official said, “COVID-19 has gradually become a part of daily life, and in the prolonged situation of sales decline, the role of the headquarters is even more important,” adding, “In 2022, we will continue to seek innovative new menu development and sales promotion methods and actively implement win-win policies.”
