Ddokdok Surpasses 2 Million Non-Face-to-Face Medical Payment Transactions Last Year

2.14 Million Contactless Medical Payment Transactions via Mobile and Kiosk... More Than 2.5 Times Increase Compared to Previous Year

Ddokdok Surpasses 2 Million Non-Face-to-Face Medical Payment Transactions Last Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Vibros (CEO Song Yong-beom), which operates the mobile medical appointment reservation service 'Ddokdak,' announced on the 20th that the number of non-face-to-face medical fee payment transactions exceeded 2 million last year.

According to Ddokdak, the number of non-face-to-face medical fee payment transactions through mobile payment services and kiosks in 2021 reached 2.14 million, approximately 2.5 times higher than the previous year. In particular, in the fourth quarter, hospitals using all of Ddokdak's non-face-to-face medical fee payment services processed more than 33 medical fee payments automatically per day. This increase is attributed to the growing number of hospitals seeking work efficiency and patients wanting to reduce their time spent inside the hospital.

When using Ddokdak's mobile payment or kiosks, patients can pay their medical fees by themselves. A hospital official stated that since there is no need to face patients directly, it not only reduces workload but also lowers the risk of secondary infections of contagious diseases. Additionally, patients do not need to wait extra after their consultation to make payments.

Song Yong-beom, CEO of Vibros, said, "The method of paying medical fees is rapidly changing due to COVID-19," adding, "We will do our best to upgrade and expand the non-face-to-face medical fee payment service until the day when exchanging credit cards at hospitals feels rather awkward."
