Gokseong-gun Achieves Nationwide Top Level in Data-Driven Administrative Capabilities

Selected as a National Excellent Institution with a Score of 96.6 in the 2021 Data-Driven Administration Performance Evaluation

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, has been evaluated as the top level nationwide in administrative capabilities based on data.

According to Gokseong-gun on the 19th, it was selected as an excellent institution nationwide in the '2021 Data-Based Administration Status Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The Data-Based Administration Status Evaluation was first implemented last year to establish scientific administration based on data by inspecting the overall status of data-based administrative operations in the public sector, including central administrative agencies and local governments.

Among 266 local government institutions evaluated, 90 institutions were named excellent institutions.

Gokseong-gun received a total score of 96.6 points in this evaluation.

This score is significantly higher compared to the local government average of 83.29 points. It indicates that Gokseong-gun's data-based administrative capabilities are outstanding even among excellent institutions.

The evaluation was conducted based on 8 indicators in 4 areas (▲Data-Based Administrative Governance, ▲Capacity Building for Utilization, ▲Joint Utilization Data Registration, ▲Data Analysis and Utilization).

In particular, emphasis was placed on the institution's efforts and achievements in performing data analysis tasks, policy utilization, and discovering excellent cases of data-based administration.

Gokseong-gun especially scored high in the data analysis and utilization area.

Gokseong-gun actively utilized the analysis of forest species distribution to select sites for forest tending.

This case was highly praised and selected as an excellent example in the data analysis and utilization area.

Additionally, the big data analysis and application case related to information disclosure requests was also recognized as outstanding.

Through data analysis, Gokseong-gun adds frequently requested information to the advance information list, thereby providing residents with high-demand interest information in advance.

A county official said, “Scientific administration based on data is becoming increasingly important for effective and trusted public services. We will strive to enable each resident to feel happiness by activating data utilization in various fields such as policy establishment in the future.”
