[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 19th that it is recruiting applicants to move into the ‘Residential Family Practice Farm’ facilities for prospective return-to-farm and return-to-village urban residents until the 4th of next month.
Previously, the county completed temporary residential facilities for the Residential Family Practice Farm in Imsil-eup and Cheongung-myeon last year.
The Residential Family Practice Farm facilities in Imsil-gun are 55.08㎡ (about 16 pyeong) per household, and a total of 22 households are being recruited: 12 households in Jeongwol-ri, Imsil-eup, and 10 households in Gugo-ri, Cheongung-myeon.
Residents living in the Residential Family Practice Farm will cultivate crops themselves in a garden of about 100㎡ (30 pyeong) provided per household, acquire farming skills, and participate in various return-to-farm and return-to-village education programs conducted by the county.
Eligibility for residence includes those who have lived in urban areas of other cities or provinces for more than one year as of the application date and wish to return to farming or rural living in Imsil-gun. Those who have moved into rural areas within the county within one year are also eligible.
The household must be able to register at least two family members, and priority will be determined by evaluating family size, purchase of farmland within the county, and hours completed in return-to-farm education.
Selected residents must pay a monthly rent of 195,000 KRW and a deposit of 2.34 million KRW for the Residential Family Practice Farm in Imsil-eup, and a monthly rent of 200,000 KRW and a deposit of 2.4 million KRW for the facility in Cheongung-myeon.
The temporary residential facilities of the Residential Family Practice Farm provide housing and practice farms where urban residents can temporarily reside before returning to farming or rural living.
These facilities offer opportunities to experience agriculture and rural life, and serve as spaces to nurture return-to-farm and return-to-village individuals through suitable housing and farmland purchase, desired crop cultivation, and technical education in their intended settlement areas.
The county expects this to greatly contribute to providing opportunities and experiences to understand the local agriculture and rural conditions and to improving the settlement rate of prospective return-to-farm and return-to-village residents in Imsil-gun.
Those wishing to move in can submit application documents by visiting the Imsil-gun Rural Vitality Division’s Return-to-Farm and Return-to-Village Team in person or by mail.
A county official said, “We will do our best to expand various infrastructure for urban residents considering return-to-farm and return-to-village so that they can settle stably in rural areas,” adding, “Those who return to farming and rural living will coexist and harmonize with local residents and contribute to the influx of urban population.”
