Jeongeup-si Supports Small Business Owners with 'Quarantine Supplies Cost'... 100,000 KRW per Business

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 19th that it will support the purchase cost of quarantine supplies to ease the burden on small businesses and small merchants struggling due to COVID-19 infection and the spread of Omicron.

The support for quarantine supplies is a measure to alleviate the burden on local small businesses and small merchants caused by the purchase of quarantine supplies such as QR code verification devices, following the expanded implementation of the COVID-19 quarantine pass system.

The support targets about 1,500 establishments in 16 industries subject to mandatory quarantine pass application, including entertainment facilities, karaoke rooms, restaurants, and cafes.

Applicants must not be in a suspended or closed status as of the application date, and by attaching receipts for the purchase of quarantine supplies such as QR code verification devices, thermometers, and masks, they can receive up to 100,000 KRW per business.

The first application period is until the 6th of next month.

The city has recently sent guidance messages to eligible businesses, and applications can be made online through the city hall website.

Until the 26th, a 10-day rotation system based on the last digit of the business registration number will be operated for smooth application, and from the 27th to the 6th of next month, applications can be made regardless of the number.

Businesses excluded from the first application will be supported through the second application starting from the 14th of next month.

The application method involves entering basic information such as business name, business registration number, and purchase amount, and attaching receipts containing quarantine supply purchase details after December 3 of last year. After prompt verification, the support fund can be received within a week.

A city official said, “We sincerely thank the small merchants who actively cooperate to comply with quarantine rules amid the COVID-19 crisis,” and added, “We hope this quarantine supply support project will be of some help to many small merchants experiencing economic difficulties.”
