Increase Support Amount to 1 Billion KRW and Expand Eligible Recipients to About 16,000 Households

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 19th that it held the Lunar New Year ‘Traditional Market Love Sharing Event’ to revitalize traditional markets and bring happiness to neighbors in need.


The Lunar New Year ‘Traditional Market Love Sharing Event’ is an event where KB Kookmin Bank’s 13 regional sales groups, together with Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry International, purchase groceries such as rice, fish, meat, and fruit with Onnuri gift certificates at traditional markets nationwide and deliver them to welfare facilities. During the event, Lee Jae-geun, President of KB Kookmin Bank, visited Yeongdeungpo traditional market and personally purchased gifts to support vulnerable groups, conveying warm hearts.


In particular, this Lunar New Year, to support traditional markets and vulnerable groups struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the support amount was increased from 300 million KRW to 1 billion KRW, and the number of beneficiaries was expanded to about 16,000 households. From 2011 to this year, a total of 6.6 billion KRW worth of daily necessities have been purchased at traditional markets and delivered to about 105,000 households in need.


The bank president said, “Through this event, I hope that the traditional markets, which have been depressed, will be revitalized and that neighbors in need will have a warm and happy holiday,” adding, “We will always strive to be KB Kookmin Bank that coexists with the local community.”
