[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A group accused of detaining a man in his 20s at a real estate sales dormitory has been handed over to the prosecution while in custody.
On the 19th, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul applied charges including arrest and detention against four suspects and sent them to the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office in custody.
At around 7:50 a.m. that day, the suspects left the police station detention center and did not respond at all to reporters' questions such as "Do you admit the charges?" and "Is it true that there was mistreatment?" They were divided into two groups of two and boarded two escort vehicles.
The victim, Mr. A, a man in his early 20s, suffered serious injuries after jumping from the 7th floor of a multi-family house in Gangseo-gu, which was used as a real estate sales dormitory, on the 9th of this month.
On the same day, the police urgently arrested four people, including Mr. B, the sales team leader who lived with Mr. A, on charges of violating Mr. A's physical freedom (arrest), and detained them on the 12th of this month. Recently, the dormitory was also searched.
Through closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and other evidence, the police confirmed that Mr. A had left the dormitory several months ago but was recaptured and dragged back by these four suspects. It is known that 7 to 8 people lived together in the dormitory used for real estate sales.
Mr. A has partially regained consciousness but is reportedly in a condition that makes it difficult to give a statement.
The police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr. A's jump from the 7th floor.
