[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Hanwha General Insurance announced on the 18th that it has provided consolation money of 1.5 million KRW and relief supplies worth 200,000 KRW to a basic livelihood security household that suffered property damage due to a fire of unknown cause.

The affected household, residing in a rental apartment in Jongno-gu, Seoul, is a single-parent family where the elder has a medical history including depression and requires family care, and the children lack the financial capacity to recover from fire damage amounting to over 40 million KRW.

Upon learning of this situation, Hanwha General Insurance collaborated with the Jongno Fire Station and Sungin 2-dong Community Service Center to help the affected household return to daily life as soon as possible.

Since 2015, Hanwha General Insurance has been assisting households facing financial difficulties among fire victims in Seoul, in cooperation with the Seoul Fire and Disaster Headquarters, Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, and Seoul City, helping them return to normal life. Including this household, a total of 140 households have been supported.

A Hanwha General Insurance official stated, "Under the vision of sustainable management, we are working to establish a social safety net in the community and strive for mutual growth," adding, "We will continue our social contribution activities for socially vulnerable and disadvantaged groups to create social value."
