[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Heo Jeong-won, an alumnus of the Department of Lifelong Education and Youth Counseling at Dong-Eui University, received the '2021 Korea Talent Award' from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education on the 28th.
The 'Korea Talent Award,' hosted by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, is held annually to discover talents who possess creativity and contribute to the development of the community.
The award selects 100 young people aged between 15 and 29.
The award ceremony was held on the 28th with about 40 attendees, including regional and sector representatives, both online and offline, in accordance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
Heo Jeong-won was recognized for achievements in administration and case management while working at the Pohang City Girls' Mid- to Long-term Youth Shelter.
Heo said, "We can find the potential of youth in a society where they stand side by side, not in a line," adding, "I hope Korea becomes a country that respects each individual's personality and discovers each person's strengths to help nurture their dreams."
