According to the police on the 19th, the Eunpyeong Police Station in Seoul sent Mr. A (82), who is accused of abusing a one-year-old Maltese dog by hanging it from its leash in an alley in Eunpyeong-gu on the 9th of this month (violation of the Animal Protection Act), to the prosecution on the 14th.
After a video showing Mr. A's abuse went viral online, the animal rights organization "CARE" visited Mr. A on the 10th of this month, took protective measures for the dog, had him relinquish ownership, and filed a complaint with the police.
CARE accepted adoption applications for the dog and decided to send the puppy to a couple in their 30s living in Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province.
