[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 19th that it will accept applications for the ‘Women Farmers Happiness Voucher Card’ support for local women farmers for one month starting from the 20th.
The voucher provides 200,000 KRW per person to support leisure and cultural activity expenses for women farmers. The usage includes health promotion, movie viewing, beauty salons, optical shops, and book purchases.
The voucher recipients are women farmers residing in Daejeon aged 19 to under 75 (based on resident registration), who are either business owners or non-business owner women farmers, whose combined comprehensive income of themselves and their spouses from non-agricultural sources is less than 37 million KRW, and who have not received similar welfare services from the national or local governments.
Women farmers wishing to apply must visit the administrative welfare center in their jurisdiction with income certificates of themselves and their spouses, and a family relation certificate to apply.
The voucher can be received as a card when the selected recipient deposits a self-pay amount of 20,000 KRW at a designated NH Nonghyup Bank branch. The card can only be used within the Daejeon area.
For more detailed information regarding the application process, applicants can receive guidance through the happiness support center in their residential jurisdiction.
Previously, the city supported a total of 40.7 million KRW in vouchers to 2,035 local women farmers last year.
Park Ik-gyu, head of the Agricultural Life Policy Division of the city, said, “The city will continue to develop and implement various policies for women farmers.”
