Lotte Members Launches L.Point e-Coupon Gifting Service Lotte Members, L.Point e-Coupon Gift Service.

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Members announced on the 19th that it has started an e-coupon gifting service on the integrated membership service L.POINT mobile application (app).

As of the end of last year, e-coupons are a mobile coupon service that allows 41.3 million L.POINT members to purchase various affiliated company products such as shopping, dining, beauty & fashion, and electronics at a discount using L.POINT. Previously, only the member themselves could purchase and use the coupons. With the launch of the gifting service, members can now use their accumulated L.POINT to send mobile coupons as gifts to family, friends, lovers, and acquaintances for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays such as Seollal and Chuseok.

The number of affiliated brands has also significantly increased from 7 to 88. Not only Lotte affiliates such as Lotte GRS, Mart, and Seven Eleven, but also open affiliates like KFC, McDonald's, Outback, Pizza Hut, Domino's Pizza, The Born Korea, and Bon I.F. products can be purchased and gifted using L.POINT e-coupons.

Considering recent gifting trends, numerous cafes and dessert brands such as Coffee Bean, Paul Bassett, Twosome Place, Ediya Coffee, Paik’s Coffee, Caffe Bene, Caffe Droptop, Coffine Gurunaru, Selecto Coffee, Hollys, Mammoth Coffee, Caffe Kona Queens, The Chocolate Coffee &d, Jamba Juice, Sulbing, Miltop, Hans Cake, and Dore Dore have been added.

The number of products handled has increased from about 160 to over 3,100. The dining product lineup has been expanded to include chicken brands like BBQ, BHC, and Cheogajip, as well as tteokbokki, pizza, bossam & jokbal, budaejjigae, and fusion Korean cuisine.

E-coupons can be sent via SMS by knowing only the recipient’s phone number, and multiple gifts can be sent to up to 30 people. If there are insufficient L.POINTs at the time of purchase, they can be recharged via credit card or direct debit from a bank account. The validity period can be extended up to 5 years in 93-day increments, and a 100% refund is possible within the initial validity period.

Osangwoo, Head of Marketing Services Division at Lotte Members, said, "Many users purchased e-coupons in advance before the price increases announced by food and beverage brands due to recent inflation. Not only has the culture of sending gifts via mobile become widespread due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the number of smart consumers using discounts, points, and e-coupons for reasonable household management seems to have increased."

Meanwhile, on the L.POINT app shopping tab, gift sets for the upcoming Seollal holiday, including health foods, Korean beef, seafood, fruits, rice cakes & Korean traditional sweets, are being sold at discounts of up to 91%.
