Autonomous Robot Company 'Bear Robotics' Signs Business Agreement
Servi Utilization Test Conducted at Logiol Headquarters
"Minimizing Lidar Discomfort... Providing a Differentiated Delivery Experience"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Logiol, which operates the delivery agency service 'Saenggakdaero,' announced on the 19th that it has signed a business agreement with Bear Robotics, a company specializing in autonomous serving robots.
Under this agreement, the two companies plan to jointly develop an indoor last-mile delivery service system using autonomous robots and discover new business models based on data.
Bear Robotics is the world's first autonomous serving robot company and successfully raised $32 million (approximately 37 billion KRW) in Series A funding led by SoftBank Group in 2020, launching Servi.
Servi understands spatial structures through mapping and detects even very small obstacles based on information collected by LiDAR sensors and 3D cameras. It can also operate elevator buttons via internet connection, enabling autonomous driving along the optimal route.
Since July last year, Logiol and Bear Robotics have been conducting serving tests using Servi at the cafe on the first floor of Logiol's headquarters located in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, and are currently reviewing its application on-site.
A Logiol official stated, "Applying indoor autonomous delivery robots to the delivery agency system can solve issues such as unauthorized access to apartments and security concerns of female customers, while riders can improve work efficiency." They added, "We will promote new businesses aimed at minimizing riders' inconvenience and providing customers with a differentiated delivery experience."
