[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, defended Kim Gun-hee, spouse of presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, referring to the expression "spiritual person" in the '7-hour call' recording file by mentioning "today's horoscope."
Earlier, on the 17th, MBC's 'News Desk' reported that during a call with a reporter from the YouTube channel 'Seoul's Voice,' Kim said, "I am not possessed by a god or anything like that, but I probably guess better than most people... (Physiognomy) is done by looking at the color. Looking at the face is something amateurs do."
She also said, "I am a very spiritual person, so I rather enjoy reading books and talking with fortune tellers about what life is."
In response, on the 18th, Lee stated on the YouTube channel News Tomato's 'No Young-hee's News IN Cider,' "I think it is an excessive claim to argue that our candidate's spouse lacks the qualifications to be the First Lady because of such things."
He then mentioned "today's horoscope," saying, "Because there is public demand, newspapers allocate space even in very expensive spots to include such content. If people who look at these are all treated as disqualified, wouldn't a significant number of citizens be considered strange?"
He added, "There are many unscientific things that individuals accept and apply in their lives."

Meanwhile, regarding criticism that Kim made secondary victimization remarks about Kim Ji-eun, the victim in the 'Me Too' case involving former Chungnam Governor Ahn Hee-jung, Lee judged, "I think it is difficult to establish."
He continued, "It seems Kim expressed her personal opinion about the private relationship between former Governor Ahn and Kim Ji-eun," and defended, "I don't think the candidate's spouse spoke with a specific intent against Kim Ji-eun."
Regarding Kim's statement in the recording that "the conservatives don't have Me Too incidents because they pay money," Lee said, "It is merely an expression of her feelings as an evaluation. It is probably a rumor that ordinary citizens might have heard somewhere."
