Implementation of Expanded Sales to Residents in 10 Agricultural and Fishing Villages
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Pohang City in Gyeongbuk has started selling Pohang Love Gift Certificates ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The city is holding a 10% discount event from the 18th to revive the depressed local consumer sentiment.
Starting this year, the purchase limit for electronic (card·mobile) gift certificates has been raised from 200,000 KRW to 500,000 KRW, and individuals can purchase up to 1,000,000 KRW in total, with 500,000 KRW each for paper and electronic types.
Paper gift certificates can be purchased at 166 financial institutions within the region, and electronic ones can be recharged monthly through the smartphone application ‘IM Shop’.
This event will continue until the 60 billion KRW fund is exhausted, and the validity period is five years from the date of issuance.
Lee Kang-deok, Mayor of Pohang, said, “The popularity of Pohang Love Gift Certificates is increasing every year, and we will expand non-face-to-face electronic gift certificates so that many citizens can use them safely.”
