Providing 1:1 Customized Health Management Services by Healthcare Professionals
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County has rolled up its sleeves for the health of its residents by launching a non-face-to-face customized health management service called ‘Mobile Healthcare’ to prevent chronic diseases such as hypertension and create a healthy Hampyeong County free from dementia concerns.
The support targets for chronic diseases such as hypertension are residents aged 19 and older living in the area, and the program is conducted in two phases?Phase 1 (60 people) and Phase 2 (60 people)?to prevent COVID-19.
Participants in Phase 1 will receive health management services starting in February, while Phase 2 will recruit additional participants in April and begin in May.
The county plans to prioritize participants with high health risk factors such as blood pressure and HDL cholesterol through basic health checkups including blood tests and provide services accordingly.
Selected participants will receive one-on-one customized health management services for 24 weeks from a team of five health professionals consisting of doctors, nurses, nutritionists, exercise specialists, and coordinators.
Additionally, participants who complete monthly ‘health missions’ or achieve personal health goals will be awarded gift certificates as incentives.
◆ ‘Rolling up sleeves for dementia prevention’... ‘Visiting Early Dementia Screening’ conducted
To prevent dementia early, the county conducts ‘Visiting Early Dementia Screening’ targeting local elderly residents diagnosed with cognitive decline based on last year’s dementia screening results.
This project replaces the selective screening previously conducted at village halls during the off-season to prevent COVID-19 spread, with health center specialists visiting the homes of the subjects directly for screening.
After the first visit screening, a second diagnostic test is conducted at the Hampyeong Dementia Safety Center, and if a third differential test is necessary, precise examinations such as blood tests and brain imaging are performed in cooperation with affiliated hospitals (Hampyeong Seongsim Hospital, Muan General Hospital).
Depending on the screening results, if registered as a dementia management target, various services such as treatment costs (up to 30,000 KRW per month / income criteria applied), care supplies, and participation in dementia-tailored programs are provided.
A health center official said, “As COVID-19 continues to spread, we aim to promote residents’ health through non-face-to-face customized health management services.”
He added, “Since the prognosis of dementia patients varies greatly depending on the time of detection, regular diagnostic tests are very important,” and “We will do our best to ensure prompt and appropriate dementia management services.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Mobile Healthcare’ project is a service that allows individuals to receive personalized health management services from health professionals using smart devices anytime and anywhere without restrictions on location or time.
