[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction, a subsidiary of Korea Technology, a KOSDAQ-listed company (Chairman Kim Yongbin), announced on the 18th that it held the ‘2022 Safety and Health Policy Implementation Pledge Ceremony’ at all construction sites under its supervision on the 11th.
The Safety and Health Policy Implementation Pledge Ceremony was held at sites including the Gimpo Daepo Logistics Center (A7-1, A7-2BL) and the Seongju Elcrew Apartment New Construction Project, with attendance from on-site staff and all workers.
At each pledge ceremony, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction declared safety and health management policies such as ▲Safety First ▲Conducting Risk Assessments ▲Safety Briefings ▲Implementation of TBM, pledging to establish fundamental countermeasures against hazards at construction sites and to eliminate risks before work begins.
Seo Boknam, CEO of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction, stated, “This year, we proved our status as the top domestic safety management system by receiving the ‘Very Excellent’ grade in the constructor safety category from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Although orders are increasing due to the expansion of our nationwide order network, we aim to be the number one safety company rather than the number one in sales.”
Meanwhile, last year Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction won the Excellence Award in both safety and quality categories for the first time at the ‘2021 LH Construction VE Competition’ and the Best Award in the video category at the National Safety Competition.
Additionally, this year Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction was recognized as one of five companies among 135 in the constructor category to receive the highest grade of ‘Very Excellent’ in the public construction safety management level evaluation released by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, proving its industry-leading safety system.
