[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Dexter Studio, known for creating visuals in 'Along with the Gods' and 'Mogadishu,' participated in the film 'Pirates: The Goblin's Flag.'
Dexter Studio was in charge of the visual effects (VFX) for the movie 'Pirates: The Goblin's Flag,' which depicts the spectacular adventures of pirates who gather at sea to become the owners of the royal treasure that disappeared without a trace.
The production team actively utilized CG to create highly detailed visuals so that audiences could perceive the pirates' extraordinary adventures across the sea, islands, and caves as realistic, involving over 500 personnel working for about a year.
Especially since the ship is the main setting of the film, thorough research was conducted, referencing nature documentaries and footage to capture spectacular scenes such as underwater volcanic eruptions, lightning striking above the sea, and massive tsunamis. After numerous meticulously calculated simulations of all elements, the waves and tidal waves covering the pirate ship were dynamically portrayed.
The underwater scenes were vividly captured by actively utilizing the pre-visualization (Pre-Visualization) system, a prior visualization process, minimizing trial and error in actual high-difficulty underwater filming.
Virtual visuals such as pillars of fire and lightning islands, as well as animal creatures including whales, penguins, and cows, were all completed with delicate CG work.
'Pirates: The Goblin's Flag' is set to be released on the 26th.
