[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Jang Hye-young, a member of the Justice Party, raised her voice against Kim Gun-hee, spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, regarding Kim's remarks about former Chungnam Governor Ahn Hee-jung, saying that Kim is "denying and trivializing power-based sexual violence."

On the 17th, Jang posted on her Facebook, "Kim Gun-hee's denial and sympathetic remarks about Ahn Hee-jung's 'Me Too' on MBC's Straight broadcast on the 16th fundamentally distorted and denied the public truth," expressing her criticism.

Jang stated, "The clear fact we know is that former Chungnam Governor Ahn Hee-jung committed power-based sexual violence, was convicted by the Supreme Court, and is currently serving his sentence," adding, "Kim Gun-hee's remarks have gone so far as to deny and trivialize power-based sexual violence occurring in politics itself."

She continued, "It is simply despairing that the spouse of a leading presidential candidate, who should be at the forefront correcting distortions of facts by others, has secretly revealed such a completely inappropriate perception."

Finally, Jang said, "We must fight together against politics that tries to turn the world back to before Me Too," and added, "What our society needs now is not Kim Gun-hee's story mocking victims of power-based sexual violence, but the stories of many more Kim Ji-euns."

Earlier, on the 16th, MBC's current affairs program 'Straight' revealed that Kim made inappropriate remarks related to Me Too. Kim said, "Me Too breaks out because no money is given," and referred to former Governor Ahn, who was convicted and imprisoned for sexually assaulting his secretary using his power, as "pitiful."

Kim's side apologized, saying, "In the process of criticizing some ruling party figures who exploited sex, very inappropriate words were spoken."
