This means that the lyrics, which were not backed up in advance during the phone's software update process, were all erased.
iOS is the operating system installed on Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Some consumers experience file resets during the automatic update of this software, so Apple product users often back up their previous data in advance.
Fans who heard this news responded with sadness, saying things like "It sounds like a bolt from the blue," "Please tell me it's a lie," and "Maybe it was backed up on the cloud, so check it."
