On the 17th (local time), according to CNN, Dave Butler, spokesperson for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stated, "Chairman Milley tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday and is currently in self-isolation."
Spokesperson Butler explained, "Chairman Milley is exhibiting very mild symptoms" and "will work remotely from home following the positive diagnosis."
It was confirmed that Milley had previously received both the vaccine and a booster shot. Additionally, the Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that he last had contact with U.S. President Joe Biden on the 12th.
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin also tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month despite having completed his vaccinations.
