[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] While the ruling party criticized the '7-hour phone call' transcript of Kim Gun-hee, spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, fired back by referring to past remarks made by Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's presidential candidate. Lee had previously sparked controversy by saying, "I was beaten a lot by my teacher, so I wanted to become a teacher to hit children."

On the 17th, Lee shared a link to a tweet from Lee Jae-myung's past on his Facebook, stating, "No matter how much you attack the candidate's spouse's remarks, the scariest thing from the people's perspective is this."

In 2012, Lee Jae-myung wrote on Twitter, "Dream. The first dream I had in the world was to become a 'teacher' when I was a rural elementary school student. Why did I want to become a teacher? It might be shocking, but I was beaten so much by my teacher that I wanted to become a teacher and hit children too... A feeling of revenge? Dreams change over time," Lee wrote. Lee Jun-seok criticized this by saying, "If you vote for Lee Jae-myung, Lee Jae-myung will be elected."

Additionally, Lee Jun-seok posted a piece by Kim Yong-min, a former member of the podcast Naggomsu (I Am a Ggomsoo). Kim wrote on his Facebook the day before, "'If I take power...' is the core of Kim Gun-hee's remarks. If you vote for Yoon Seok-yeol, Kim Gun-hee will be elected," he said.

Meanwhile, after attending an event at Hanyang University in Seongdong-gu on the same day, Lee Jun-seok told reporters about the transcript report of candidate Yoon's wife Kim, "I don't think it's a situation for me to evaluate," adding, "Since these were remarks considered private conversations, I believe the public will take that into account when making their judgment."

Regarding Kim's mention in the broadcast that "my husband and I are on Ahn Hee-jung's side," he dismissed it as "a personal opinion." He added, "I don't feel that the candidate's spouse made expressions that would be that problematic," and said, "I wonder if there will be any content when the second episode airs."
