[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Kim Gun-hee, spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, made remarks belittling the Me Too movement by saying former Chungnam Governor Ahn Hee-jung is "pitiful," prompting the victim Kim Ji-eun to demand an apology.

On the 17th, Kim issued a statement through the Korea Sexual Violence Counseling Center, saying, "I have seen Kim Gun-hee's attitude mocking even cases where guilt has been confirmed by court rulings," urging her to offer a "sincere apology."

Previously, last year, Kim was revealed through an MBC 'Straight' broadcast to have said during a phone call with a reporter from the YouTube channel 'Seoul's Voice,' "Why bother catching Me Too cases?" and "Honestly, I feel sorry for Ahn Hee-jung. My husband (Yoon Seok-yeol) and I are very much on Ahn Hee-jung's side."

In the call, Kim also said, "Conservatives definitely take care of their own. They don't let anyone work for free or anything like that. That's why Me Too cases rarely break out here," adding, "Me Too cases happen because they don't pay money." Furthermore, she added, "Conservatives have to pay; they absolutely shouldn't do it otherwise. They get burned later. It's okay now, but you never know when my life will take off."

Kim Ji-eun stated, "I have now clearly realized that secondary perpetrators exist not only in the Blue House and the ruling party candidate's camp but also in the opposition camp," asserting, "The thoughtless words you uttered have become seeds of secondary harm, and I am still suffering from malicious comments." She continued, "I do not expect you to change the world. But please do not become obstacles to efforts for change," and said, "I will fight to the end against you who wield limited power, divide, manipulate, and mock the people."
